The stricter BS-6 emission norms are set to kick in from April 2020. All two-wheeler manufacturers are busy in the preparations of readying their models for the big deadline.
In an interview to PTI, a top official from Royal Enfield has confirmed that they are on the track of upgrading their models. The company is working towards the BS-6 bikes since they received the notification in 2016.
The official states that Royal Enfield is in the final stages of testing and validation of BS-6 bikes. The company will be ready with the updated lineup much before the deadline in April 2020.

Reports say that most of the two-wheeler brands including Royal Enfield is considering fuel injection system. With FI system, the tail pipe emissions would be in control, which will further be compliant with the upcoming BS-6 engines.
The prices of the bikes are set to increase after the BS-6 update. Even with ABS update, the bikes saw a price hike of around Rs 12,000-15,000 from the non-ABS variants.
We suspect that the launch could happen by the end of 2019 itself. The company might launch all the BS-6 versions together. Unlike with ABS, they silently launched the updated models one by one.
