VASCO: President of Travel and Tourism Association of Goa (TTAG) Savio Messias, on Monday, welcomed the app-based taxi service which was launched by the state government, under Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC).
Speaking to this daily, Messias said that the people of Goa and the tourists coming down to the state will now have a choice to travel by the taxis by paying minimum and reasonable fares.
“I welcome the launch of app-based taxi service in the state which will help the people in spending less on their travel anywhere in the state,” he added.
The tourists can get details about the rates and other information in advance while booking a taxi through the app system, he said.
“There is a competition in every field. The yellow and black taxi operators at Dabolim airport should welcome the decision of the government and should try to compete with the app-based taxi service, without holding any protest,” he added. He advised the yellow black taxi operators to register for providing the app-based service.
