Imagine yourself cruising down the highways on elegant cafe racers. They carry on the old-school designs still now, which attracts the crowd. The British Motorcycle Norton Commando 961 might come to India in July. It will carry a price of Rs 23.40 Lakhs. Let’s see what the cafe racer offers at this high premium price.
Norton started off with the process of bike manufacturing in 1902. It produced cafe racers which were quite well known in the World War. Originally, a bike parts manufacturing company, it began its production process on a large scale since the 1960s. Since then, the British Motorcycle makers have created a name in the global market with its premium bike range. The one which is coming to India is the Norton Commando 961. Like Lamborghini, this bike gets its every part and fittings made by hands. Imagine the quality and authenticity of the cafe racer. It carries a 961cc engine that produces power worth 72 horses and 69 Nm of peak torque.
This bike is expected to come to India by July 2018 via the CBU route. In India, Norton has made a joint venture with Kinetic. The bookings for Norton Commando 961 have already begun at the Kinetic Motors dealerships for Rs 2 Lakhs. In the beginning, it will come as a completely built unit and if the response is good, Norton might set up a factory for production and manufacturing. The uber cool cafe racer is priced at Rs 23.40 Lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).

The bike comes with a steep pricing because each bike is handmade to every single little detail. Once the production facility is set up, new dealerships will open and Norton bikes will be available in a lesser time period. Norton will exclusively sell its motorcycle through Kinetic-owned Moto Royale dealerships. The chain of dealerships also offers sales and service for MV Agusta motorcycles. It is expected to be fully available by July 2018.
The cafe racer is priced around Rs 23 Lakh (ex-showroom). Currently, only 1 bike is available for sale and the bookings are open for checking the demand of the bike. The dealers are taking either Rs 2 Lakhs or half of the bike’s price as booking amounts.
