Upcoming Bikes In India – BMW G 310 R & G 310 GS
The street naked and adventure tourer by BMW is going to finally launch in India this year. The bikes were developed by BMW in conjunction with TVS which is also manufacturing and exporting the bikes from India. The global entry-level model from BMW has received a great response from the markets around the world. Both the bikes share the same underpinnings. At its heart is a 313 cc single cylinder engine that makes a healthy 33.6 hp and 28 Nm of max torque. Both the sibling’s weight around 158 kg and offer a great package in a compact form. The upcoming BMW Bikes In India is expected to launch in the final quarter of this year. The G 310 R will start around INR 2.25 lakh and the G 310 GS will start at around INR 2.4 lakh.

Upcoming Bikes In India – Harley Davidson Iron 1200
The Iron 883’s bigger brother will be joining the HD army this year. The Iron 1200 resembles the 883 in terms of looks with the wider handlebar and new headlamp cowl being the only noticeable changes. At its heart is a 1,202cc motor that makes a claimed increase in torque by 36%. The four-cylinder motor makes 98.9 Nm of max torque as compared to the 72.9 Nm of the 883. The handlebar is wider at 812 mm and with a 165 mm pullback, the result is upright riding position. Exactly like the 883, 1200 gets a puny 12.5-litre fuel tank. If launched as CKD, the Iron 1200 will be the most affordable 1200cc motorcycle in Harley Davidson range. Harley Davidson’s upcoming bikes In India includes the Iron 1200 expected to launch in the third quarter of 2018. We expect Harley to price the upcoming 1200 around INR 9.4 lakh.

Upcoming Bikes In India – Hero Xpulse
Hero Impulse was the first off-road worthy leisure bike in India. Since the Impulse came in ahead of its time, the sales numbers were really limited. At the 2018 Auto Expo, Hero took wraps off the new Xpulse. The Impulse’s successor borrows its engine from the recently launched Xtreme 200R. The 200cc single-cylinder motor is good for 18.4 bhp and 17 Nm of torque. The Xpulse gets a full-LED headlight with a small windscreen. The enduro handlebar with hand guards further pronounces its nature. At 825mm, the seat height is not friendly for our shorter friends, but the 220mm ground clearance and 190mm suspension travel makes up for it.

The 21-inch wheel up front and 18-inch wheel at the rear with single-channel ABS are great for off-road. The bike’s frame strength was tested at last year’s Raid de Himalaya rally, the third toughest in the world. The Xpulse is expected to launch around the end of 2018 with prices starting from INR 1 lakh.
Upcoming Bikes In India – Royal Enfield 650 Twins
Next up in the list of the upcoming bikes in India are the Royal Enfield 650 twins. The most anticipated product of the year will launch in September this year. The Continental GT 650 and Interceptor 650 share the same underpinnings and cycle parts with visual details being the only defining factors. The 648cc air-cooled, twin-cylinder engine is good for 47 bhp at 7,100 rpm and 52 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. The engine will comes mated to a six-speed gearbox with a slip-assist clutch. The conventional telescopic fork at the front and gas-charged twin shocks at the rear are common amongst the two. The Continental GT 650 range will start around INR 2.9 lakh and the Interceptor GT range around 3.2 lakh.

Upcoming Bikes In India – Suzuki V-Storm 650
2018 is going to be the year of exploration with several automakers bringing in their adventure ready models in India. The Triumph Tiger, for instance, has been the most successful model for the British two-wheeler maker. Sighting the opportunity, Suzuki is finally bringing in their V-Storm 650 adventure tourer. Powering the bike is a twin-cylinder 645c engine that churns out 70hp of power and 66 Nm of torque. The off-road oriented version, the 650XT gets aluminium rims with stainless-steel spokes and tubeless Bridgestone Battlax Adventure tyres. Weighing in between 213 kg and 216 kg, the V-Storm 650 is definitely not a light motorcycle but with weight, sometimes comes good quality fit and finish. The bike will be imported as CKD however, Suzuki clarified a more premium pricing than the Kawasaki Versys 650. Expect the new adventure-tourer to launch sometime around Q4, 2018 with prices starting around INR 7 lakh.

Upcoming Bikes In India – SWM Superdual T/X
Like I said, 2018 is the year of exploration. another middle-weight adventure tourer comes in from the house of Kinetic. The SWM Superdual is a perfect product for the Indian market. The pocket-friendly 600cc single cylinder engine makes a healthy 57 bhp. A six-speed manual transmission transfers the power. The Superdual features a reliable dual-cradle frame and 45mm upside-down forks at the front. The rear gets a monoshock from Sachs that offers full adjustability for preload, compression and rebound. Suspension travel is massive with 210mm at front and 270mm at the rear. Stopping power comes from 300 mm disc brake at the front and 220 mm at the rear. Both ends feature off-road ABS. The upcoming SWM is the most promising adventure tourer of them all. Te Superdual is expected to launch by May 2018 with a starting price of INR 5.5 lakh.
Upcoming Bikes In India – Ather S340
Ather Energy, a Bengaluru based startup unveiled the S340 electric scooter concept in 2016. The scooter featured a top speed of 72kmph and an average range of 60 km. The battery pack was IP67 rated water resistant and reliable enough for 50,000km. We expect these numbers to surge on the production version due launch this year. The e-scooter features LED lights all around. Smart connectivity options like touchscreen instrument panel with onboard navigation. The navigation can be set and controlled remotely via the company’s app. The Ataetherher S340 is expected to launch around May this year and will be priced between INR 90,000 and INR 1 lakh.
Upcoming Bikes In India – Benelli Imperiale 400
Next up in the list of upcoming bikes in India is a Royal Enfield Bullet 350 challenger. The Italian two-wheeler maker Benelli will launch the Imperiale 400 in India this year. Powering the bike is a 373.5cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that develops 19.7 hp and 28 Nm of max torque. The motor is fuel injected and comes paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. The cruiser sits on steel tubular, double cradle frame and implements 41mm telescopic fork at the front. The rear uses twin shock absorbers. Stopping power comes from 300mm disc at the front and 240mm disc brake at the rear. To further aid versatility, the bike comes with 19-inch front and 18-inch rear tyre. The ergonomic design highlights the 780mm seat height. Upon launch this year, the Benelli Imperiale 400 will cost around INR 2 lakh.

Upcoming Bikes In India – Benelli Leoncino
Motorcycles like the Honda Rebel and Benelli Leoncino offer so much in terms of design that it overshadows everything else. The Leoncino was revealed at the 2016 EICMA show in two variants. The road oriented version looks great but the scrambler is next level. Unfortunately, the former is going to be launched in India initially. The scrambler’s launch depends entirely on the demand. Powering the bike is a 499.6cc liquid-cooled and fuel-injected twin-cylinder motor. The engine makes 49.6 bhp and 45 Nm and comes paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
The Leoncino sits on a tubular steel-trellis frame with 17-inch wheels at each end. The front fork is a 50mm USD unit while the rear gets a monoshock with 112mm of travel. Stopping power comes from a 320mm disc at front and 260mm disc at the rear. ABS is offered as standard. The 13.5-litre fuel tank is a tad small but can be forgiven in favour of the beautiful design. Upon launch this year, the Leoncino will cost about INR 4.5 lakh.
Upcoming Bikes In India – Benelli TRK 502
Showcased in 2015, the Benelli TRK 502 is another adventure tourer in the list of upcoming bikes in India. The tall stance and the intimidating beak of the TRK are noticeable at the first glance. Powering the adventure tourer is the same engine from the Leoncino albeit in a different state of tune. The 499.6cc engine in the TRK 502 makes 46.9 hp and 45 Nm torque. The power is available at much earlier in the rpm range. As with all Benelli’s, the weight is a concern as the TRK 502 weights 210 kg. The exact launch date is uncertain but a tentative price of INR 5.5 lakh is likely.
Upcoming Bikes In India – Ducati Scrambler 1100
The Ducati Scrambler series has been one of its most popular brand names. Earlier this year Ducati took the wraps off its new Scrambler 1100. Powering the bike is a 1,079cc L-twin engine that churns out 86 hp of power and 88 Nm of torque. Comparing this to the outgoing Scrambler, the 803cc engine makes 74 hp and 67 Nm. The upcoming Scrambler 1100 will feature a six-speed gearbox and ride-by-wire technology. Unlike the 800, 1100 is a full-on tech fest. The new Scrambler features a comprehensive technology package that includes ABS, cornering ABS and four levels of traction control system.
Three riding modes i.e. Active, Journey and City are also offered as standard. The 1100 gets a new headlight with a more prominent ‘X’ pattern housed within. The instrument panel gets a secondary oval element in addition to the existing one. Ducati is expected to launch the Scrambler 1100 around the festive season of Diwali this year.

Upcoming Bikes In India – KTM 390 Adventure & Scrambler
Spied testing last year, the Indian customers are desperately waiting for the launch of the off-road-oriented versions of the 390. KTM is loved for its off-road offerings and the upcoming 390 adventure and scrambler won’t be any different. Although, KTM wants to develop both the versions from a scratch instead of simply modifying the Duke 390. Off-road vehicles have a different essence to them and KTM understands it well. The upcoming off-road twins will feature a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel. The 13.5-litre fuel tank on the Duke 390 to be upgraded as well for longer range. Expect chunky long travel suspension on each end.
KTM is working hard to allocate an individual design language to each of the models. The scrambler, for instance, features a different plastic cladding around the tank. Special accessories like bash plate, windscreen have been spotted on the test mules. KTM’s entry-level ADV has to appeal to a wide range of users and the bikes seem to the shaping up well in that regard. Expect the new KTMs to be showcased at EICMA 2018 with the India launch taking place soon after.

Upcoming Bikes In India – Hero Xtreme 200R
Unveiled at the Auto Expo 2018, Hero’s new development, Hero Xtreme 200R might hit the Indian roads this April-May period. Copying some elements from its predecessor, CBZ Xtreme, it is a naked bike. The official dates are not announced yet, but the deliveries will start soon after the launch date. The Xtreme 200R will be powered by a 199.6 CC single cylinder engine that produces 18.1 BHP worth power and 17.1 Nm worth torque. The Xtreme 200R comes with disc brakes at both ends with ABS as an option. Xtreme 200R will be priced at Rs 1 Lakh (ex-showroom).

The bike comes with LED pilot lights, LED tail light, dual-coloured seat, and a combination of digital and analogue instrument console. The digital cluster gets a clock, fuel indicator, and a trip meter. Above the digital cluster, there are basic indicators for ABS, power check, neutral gear, and indicators. Also, It gets a halogen LED headlamp. However, the bike fails to live up to the high-level technology that its competitors are offering. It might be a late entrant in the market, but with its price expectations, it can do pretty well.
Upcoming Bikes In India – TVS Commuter Bike (Prestige)
It is reported that TVS might launch a new 100CC commuter bike this year. Currently, the name speculated for the bike is TVS Prestige. The company claims that their engines can give mileage figure of 95 KMPL, which might be offered by this commuter bike too. The new commuter bike will compete with Hero Splendor and CD Deluxe. The bike might get some underpinnings from TVS Sport. TVS Sport comes with a 99.7 CC engine that produces 7.5 PS worth power and 7.5 Nm torque. Mostly, the bike will be priced between Rs 45,000 to Rs 50,000. Given the expected price, the bike will likely start off as a budget commuter with basic features like alloy wheels, rear shock absorbers, front telescopic suspension and more. It is expected to come by end of 2018.

Upcoming Bikes In India – Suzuki Gixxer ABS
The new Suzuki Gixxer ABS variant was recently spied and it is expected to launch around May 2018. It gets a single-channel ABS in the front tire, the one which is equipped with Suzuki Intruder. However, the bike receives no cosmetic and mechanical changes. With additional ABS option, the price of Gixxer ABS might be Rs 6000 – Rs 8000 more than the current Gixxer. Currently, the Gixxer starts from Rs 77,560 Rs to Rs 81,926 (ex-showroom). Gixxer runs on a 154.9 CC engine that produces 14.2 BHP worth power and 14 Nm worth torque. It gets telescopic fork suspension in the front with seven-step adjustable monoshock suspension in the rear. Gixxer claims a mileage of 63 KMPL with a top speed of 115 KMPH. In terms of features, Gixxer gets a fully digital instrument cluster, sporty graphics, sporty exhaust muffler, LED tail lamps and more.
