Within two months of launching, the bike clocked over 60,000 units in sales and crossed the 1.6 lakh units within seven months of launch. The company added the Ocean Blue colour to celebrate the achievement. The 2018 Bajaj V15 continues to offer its customers a choice of four colour options i.e. Heroic Red, Ebony Black, Pearl White and Ocean Blue Colour. Read along for more updates on the 2018 V15.
The Bajaj V15 derives its popularity by using the metal from INR Vikrant, which was Independent India’s first aircraft carrier and served during various wars. Since the Navy took the decision to retire the veteran aircraft carrier, its scrap metal was bought by Bajaj Auto, that in turn recycled the metal and uses it to produce various parts of the V15. To make it stand out from the crowd the V15 features a unique design theme along with the exclusive colour scheme. These details define the character of the premium commuter.
The 2018 Bajaj V15 features a 55/60W DC headlamp with Auto Headlight On (AHO) feature. The instrument cluster holds an analogue speedometer on the left warning lights on the right. The “V” logo is featured on the newly added backrest and the well-chiselled fuel tank. Tail lamp employs LED for illumination.
Powering the 2018 Bajaj V15 is the same 149.5cc single cylinder, air-cooled engine that churns out 12 PS of power at 7,500 rpm and 12.7 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox and powers the rear wheel via a chain-type final drive. Cycle parts include telescopic suspension at the front and twin Nitrox shock absorbers at the rear. Stopping power comes from a 240mm disc brake at the front and 130mm drum brake at the rear. The well-chiselled fuel tank holds 13 litres of fuel with the bike’s kerb weight scaling at 137 kg.
The upcoming 2018 Bajaj V15 will be launching soon with the price increased slightly. Currently, the Bajaj V15 retails for INR 64,179 ex-showroom, Delhi and the updated version might retail for INR 65,000. The Bajaj V15 competes with Honda CB Unicorn, Hero Achiever 150 and Hero Xtreme Sports.
Stay tuned for more updates from Bajaj.
