The Auto Expo 2018 is still a bit away in future (the next Delhi Motor Show will be held from 9th February to 14th February 2018). However, as it is a once-in-two-years affair, auto enthusiasts eagerly await its arrival. The show is not just about concepts but new vehicles that will launch in India soon after their Expo debut. Yes, the Delhi auto show 2018 holds a lot of promise for everyone. With that in mind, here is a list of all the upcoming new bikes at Auto Expo 2018 along with details on their launch date, price and specifications. Do take a look and do not forget to visit our Cars at Auto Expo 2018 piece, too. Enjoy!

The Pulsar 150NS follows in the footsteps of the 200NS. Hence, expect it to have the same trellis frame as the bigger bike. However, with a smaller engine onboard, expect it to handle more nimbly than the 200NS. Chances are that this bike will come with projector headlamps, backlit switchgear and other features that are a staple of Bajaj Pulsar motorcycles.
Finally, the time comes to see the KTM’s 373cc engine in the Pulsar RS range. The RS400 borrows the engine from the Austrian company and drops it in an edgy bike (look-wise). This should satiate the enthusiasts who were waiting for Puslar RS200 to gain more power but not much in terms of price.
The Dominar 400 has been pretty successful for Bajaj. Not only does it offer the KTM 390 engine at a lower cost than Duke/RC bikes, it offers it in a comfier ergonomical package. However, even though its cost is not as much as the Duke/RC bikes, it offers a number of first-in-class features. Expect the Dominar 200 to borrow KTM’s RC200/ 200 Duke engine and leave the rest of the bike unchanged.
Bajaj is likely to launch the Boxer X150 in India by mid-2018. The X150 is an adventure-styled motorcycle that gets bits like on-off road tires and a high-raised front mudguard. It also gets alloy wheels. Powering this motorcycle is the same 144.8cc single-cylinder engine that powers the Boxer BM150 and the Discover 150. The motor comes mated to a four-speed manual transmission. Prices are expected to start at roughly Rs 50,000.

Royal Enfield’s first foray in big-bike territory may start with a 750cc Himalayan. Why? The Himalayan is the most recent bike the company makes. Hence, tweaking it for a bigger engine will be easier than any other bike. Also, this may be the first time Royal Enfield uses a two-cylinder configuration on its bikes than a single Thumper.
Another 750cc RE headed our way is the Continental GT 750. Currently, the Continental sports a 535cc single-cylinder engine. Sadly, the rather tasty-looking cafe racer hasn’t attained a very high popularity. However, all this could be set to change with the advent of the GT 750. The engine will benefit from fuel injection and output a max. power of 46 BHP and a peak torque of 62 Nm. Currently, the GT 535 outputs a max. power of 29.1 BHP and a peak torque of 44 Nm. The only change in the design will arise out of the twin exhaust setup. The bike has twinexhausts, each slung on either side of the bike.
The next generation Bullet Electra could be one of the most important Royal Enfield bikes at Auto Expo 2018. The new motorcycle will come with several updates whilst maintaining the evergreen charm of the original Electra. The most important update will be mechanical. The 2018 Electra could get a new fuel-injected engine. This 346cc engine is likely to output 22 BHP of max. power and 30 Nm of peak torque. While this will be only a small increase over the carburetred 346cc motor, the gains in refinement and fuel mileage could be tremendous. The engine will come mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
Talking from an average Indian bike buyer’s perspective, the new Apache RTR 160 could be of the most important new launches at the Auto Expo 2018. Not just this, it will also become of the most significant TVS bikes at Auto Expo 2018. The next Apache RTR 160 will be an all-new model with a fresh styling, new features, re-tuned engine and many new cycle parts. Expect prices to start around Rs 80,000. The new 2018 TVS Apache RTR 160 will become a direct rival to the new Bajaj Pulsar NS 160.
Now that it’s for sure that a new Apache RTR 160 is in the pipeline, it also gets fairly possible that even a new RTR 180 is headed our way. Akin to the 2018 TVS Apache RTR 160, the new RTR 180 will get fresh new styling, more features and a bump in power. One of the biggest updates will be the rear monoshock suspension. Other than this, the bike could also get a fully-digital speedo console and more features. ABS should be made available, too.
The engine will be carried over from the current model. That said, it’s sure to get some tweaks for added power and mileage. Currently, the 177.4cc single-cylinder engine outputs 17.3 BHP and 15.50 Nm. It comes mated to a 5-speed Manual Transmission.
This is one of the most eagerly awaited bikes in recent memory. Sporting the same engine as the BMW G 310 R, this bike represents the pinnacle of TVS Motors’ bike development which started with the Apache 160. Yes, its pricing may not be to everyone’s liking. However, for this special bike, its estimated price is a bargain. If the bike comes with a slight premium over that, it will still be a hot seller for TVS.
Some time has passed since the Apache RTR 200 4V was launched in India. Yet, till date, we do not have the fuel-injected version of the bike on sale in India. This may change at the Auto Expo 2018, where TVS is likely to display the fuel-injected RTR 200 4V. Bosch has developed the FI system of the bike. Also, the fuel-injected bike, as per TVS, has a 1PS higher output than its carbureted twin. This results in a slightly-higher claimed top-speed and five-tenths of a second faster 0-60kmph timing for the fuel-injected bike.
TVS will likely unveil the production version of the Graphite automatic scooter at the 2018 Auto Expo. The Graphite made its public debut at the 2014 Auto Expo in its concept avatar. The new model looks really modern, has many features like Bluetooth and Satellite Navigation, and even an AMT with paddle shifters. Specifications are not clear at the moment but it will get either a 125cc fuel-injected or a 150cc carburetted engine.
TVS will also come up with an electric scooter at the Auto Expo 2018. This scooter will have an electric motor and rechargeable LiON batteries. It will borrow heavily from the Jupiter.
This is the bike that finally replaces the aged CBR250R. By bringing a fresh new bike in the sub-500cc range, Honda may be able to rekindle public interest in the brand. After all, the CBR250R has been outgunned and outclassed by better players such as the R3 and Ninja 300. Yes, they are all costlier than CBR250R, but they are much better too. Let’s see how they fare against the CBR300R.
This is the bike most people will be waiting for with bated breath. A full-blown race replica motorcycle from Honda is a prospect few people can keep at bay. With more people coming down to low-displacement motorcycles, this is the bike that will make Honda relevant beyond measure. After all, this is the bike that can really take on the RC 390 and not the CBR300R.
This middleweight sportbike from Honda is a derivative of the CB650F naked bike. However, as it is not a full-blown supersport bike, it sports fairly comfortable ergonomics and that makes this bike a better daily driver than most bikes out there. Who needs a litrebike when you can have a middleweight that has comfortable seating position and usable power for city and highway riding conditions?
The PCX 150 has to be one of the most important scooters at Auto Expo 2018. The upcoming Honda automatic scooter in India made its India debut at the 2014 edition of Delhi Auto Expo. The PCX 150 is a full-size scooter that should open gates to an altogether new segment of Indian scooter market. The upcoming model is powered by a 153cc, single-cylinder, SOHC liquid-cooled engine that benefits from PGM-FI fuel injection system. It comes mated to a CVT. Features include a anti-theft system and a smart navigation unit amongst others. Certainly one model to watch out for among all the Honda bikes at Auto Expo 2018.
Regulars here would remember we were the first to break news of the XRE 300 being India-bound. Expected to become the first-ever dual-purpose motorcycle from Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India (HMSI), the XRE 300 will be the second such model in the mass market (the first being the Hero Impulse). The XRE 300 gets a 291.6 cc, DOHC, single-cylinder engine that outputs 25.4 BHP @ 7,500 RPM and 27.6 Nm @ 6,000 RPM.
This could be one of the most important new motorcycles among all Honda bikes at Auto Expo 2018. The full fairing version of the CB Hornet 160R will become a direct rival to the Suzuki Gixxer SF. It may be noted here that the Gixxer SF has been successful in gradually establishing a strong foothold in the market. The upcoming Hornet full fairing model will try to eat into the market share of the Gixxer SF. Specifications are expected to remain much the same. However, HMSI could still tweak the engine a bit for this bike. Prices could start at roughly Rs 95,000. This bike will get all the features that are available on its streetnaked sibling. This upcoming Honda bike will become the only fully-faired Honda motorcycle below Rs 1 lakh.
The Scoopy could become the second of the two new Honda scooters at Auto Expo 2018. The Scoopy is on sale in America as the ‘Metropolitan’. It’s also available in Indonesia, where it gets with features such as LED headlamp and theft alarm. However, it’s not sure if these features would make it to India. For India, this cutesy automatic scooter is likely to get the same engine that powers the Activa 4G. This engine comes mated to a CVT and outputs 8 BHP and 9 Nm. Upon its India launch, the Honda Scoopy scooter will rival the likes of Yamaha Fascino and Vespa LX.
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India might decide to launch the Honda MSX 125 Grom mini-bike at the Auto Expo 2018. The Grom won’t come cheap as its prices are likely to start at roughly Rs 62,000. It will be powered by a 124.9cc engine that will output in tune of 9.7 BHP and 10.9 Nm. It looks like the Grom will be promoted as a sporty offering in India. It will weigh only about 101 KGs, which means that even with roughly 10 BHP of max. power, the new Grom will be considerably fun to ride. It will be aimed mainly at college-goers and teeny bloopers.
This is the bike that will finally enable HMSI to rival the Royal Enfield 350 models. It will sahre its engine and other bits with the Honda CBR300R. However, with a price of roughly Rs 2 lakh and decent power and torque outputs along with a cruiser-style look, it can take the fight straight to not just some REs but also the Bajaj Dominar 400.
Finally, the R15 will get an upgrade worthy of its reputation as a small-displacement supersport bike. Other than a new 155cc engine, the Version 3.0 will give the bike an all-new look, new features, new colour options and some new-found edginess. Now, not only will it be a great look but a nimbler handler too.
The Fazer 250 is a derivative of the FZ-25. As such, it is almost the same as the latter bike save for the full fairing it wears. Unlike the Fazer, which was a disaster, this bike should fair much better in the Indian market.
The YZF-R3 is a great bike but has been pulled from the market as it has a BSIII engine. However, it has some crucial bits missing such as ABS that make it a friendlier bike to use on a daily basis. Moreover, it ergonomics give it the feeling of a sport tourer than a full-blow low-displacement race bike. Come Auto Expo 2018, let’s see if Yamaha is able to fix all those issues or not.
The MT-03 is the naked version of the YZF-R3. To that end, it has similar ergonomics, similar engine specs and similar styling too (sans fairing, that is). Speculation about the bike coming to India was at a high. However, what we got instead was the FZ-25. Let’s see if Yamaha will finally bring the MT-03 to India now.
The Yamaha Nozza Grande will be another of the very few scooters at Auto Expo 2018. The Nozza Grande is Yamaha’s answer to the likes of Honda Activa 125. Yes, even this scooter is powered by an engine displacing 125-odd cc. Prices are expected to start around Rs 55,000. The Nozza Grande gets telescopic front suspension and an almost quirky styling.
Yamaha Motor India will finally launch the much awaited FZ 10, which is essentially a streetnaked version of the YZF-R1 supersports motorcycle, at the Auto Expo 2018. The FZ 10 will launch in India via CBU route and will cost north of Rs 14 lakh. It is powered by a 998cc four-cylinder, crossplane crankshaft engine that comes from the R1. The motorcycle has a top speed of 250 kmph and can go from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.4 seconds.
Now that Honda is not its partner, Hero has to stand up in the market on its own. To do so, it has to launch new products in the market. For that reason, there is the HX250R that may show face at Auto Expo 2018. After all, the market for small displacement sport bikes is growing and missing out on it means losing relevance for Hero. This, it cannot afford to do.
This bike, the last time we saw it, was in its concept form. Looking at its image, you will be reminded a lot of the Yamaha’s big-displacement FZ bikes. However, it is a mean machine in its own right, coming with a 620cc engine. If Hero is able to keep this bike’s costs in check, it may have a winner on its hands with Hastur.
The Hero Xtreme 200S is surely taking its own sweet time to launch in India. The Xtreme 200S is now likely to launch at the next Auto Expo. This upcoming Hero bike will become the biggest-ever motorcycle to wear the Xtreme moniker. It will get a 200cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine which is likely to output around 18.6 PS at 8500 rpm and 17.2 Nm at 6000 rpm.
The Hero Zir will be another of the upcoming automatic scooters at Auto Expo 2018. The Zir will be to the Hero what the PCX 150 is to Honda. The Zir gets its juice from a liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that outputs 14 BHP and 12.7 Nm. The scooter has a top speed of 110 KMPL. It comes with a 9 litre fuel tank, which makes the Zir far more suitable for long rides than most other automatic scooters, which generally have a fuel tank capacity of up to 5-litre only.
Ducati SuperSport is not a full-blow supersport bike like the 1299 Panigale. However, it is not as tame as the Scrambler either. Hence, Ducati had to give this bike a middle-of-the-road treatment in engine department. However, in proper hands, it is powerful and capable enough to shame more powerful bikes than itself. The fact that it does not sacrifice daily usability for that is a commendable aspect of this bike.
MV Agusta bikes are deeply desirable machines. The F3 takes after one of the most desirable two-wheelers on the planet, the F4. The only changes it makes to that package is opting for a three-cylinder engine and a different paint scheme. Oh, there is also the triple organ pipe exhaust tha gives this bike away as the ‘lesser’ MV.
Husqvarna is owned by KTM. So, while the Vitpilen 401 sounds like a new bike, it will make use of the same 373cc engine as on the 390 Duke /RC 390. However, that is not a bad thing as this bike looks quite modern. This bike has been spotted testing in the past, which means its launch cannot be too far off in the future.
The highly anticipated 390 Adventure is likely to make its debut at the 2018 edition of Auto Show in Delhi NCR. The 390 Adventure is based on the 390 Duke but carries several updates to become a worthy adventure tourer. Prices could start around Rs 2.3 lakh.
The RC250 is to 250 Duke what the RC200 and RC 390 are to 200 Duke and 390 Duke, respectively. Now that you can buy the 250 Duke in India, the only thing left for KTM to do now is offer its RC twin too. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for such a happening to take place.
KTM revealed the new 790 Duke at the 2017 EICMA motorcycle show in Milan. The new street-naked will soon get into production and launch in many markets worldwide. The company is promoting the new KTM Duke 790 as the ‘ultimate street weapon’. This is the first-ever motorcycle from the company to boast a parallel-twin engine. While there’s nothing official about the new motorcycle’s India launch prospects, the product is likely to rival the likes of Triumph Street Triple S and Kawasaki Z900. The D790 is still in a pre-production stage. However, a mid-2018 launch in European markets looks very likely. KTM Duke 790 India debut is likely to take place at the Auto Expo 2018.
The Kawasaki ZX-10RR is a limited-edition version of the ZX-10R. Hence, it is more costly than the regular bike. This bike’s specs include Showa’s Balance Free Suspension and Brembo M50 brakes and that is just the tip of the iceberg. It is a real mean machine.
It seems the Gixxer 150 needs a big brother too. After having taken on its competitors successfuly for a few years, the Gixxer may just get a big brother next year in Gixxer 250. If it continues the same tradition as the Gixxer 150 (good looks and sweet engine), expect it to become as popular as its little brother.
The Suzuki V-Storm 250 will be second of the two Suzuki bikes at Auto Expo 2018. The V-Storm 250 is an entry-level adventure motorcycle that is based on the Suzuki Inazuma. It may be noted here that the Inazuma 250 was earlier on sale in India but was taken off the shelves owing to poor demand. The India-bound bike should come in two trims- ABS and Non-ABS. The new motorcycle will go up against the likes of Kawasaki Versys 250. Powering this motorcycle is a 248cc, four-stroke, liquid-cooled, SOHC parallel-twin engine that outputs 25 BHP-23.40 Nm. The engine comes mated to a six-speed Manual Transmission.
If you thought Ducati Scrambler is the only bike of its kind, think again. The Benelli Leoncino is one bike that aims to trump the Scrambler by offering a similar packaghe for lower price tag than the Ducati bike. With looks quite similar to the Scrambler, it has two disc brakes up front to Ducati bike’s one. Which means it is an indication of Leoncino coming with more components than Scrambler. Let’s wait and watch.
Talk about a bagger with attitude. If you have to go on a cruise, the Electra Glide Ultra Classic is the only bike you need. Its 1753cc Milwaukee Eight makes 151Nm torque, more than what you will need for those two-up long hauls. Don’t worry about your entertainment. For a premium, a surround sound system on this bike that has Bluetooth supoort can be had. This and much more can be had on this bike with Harley-Davidson’s long options’ list.
This is among the few bikes Indian makes that come with dual disc brakes up front. After all, controlling a 1811cc monster is never easy. However, there is ABS too. Moreover with the press of a button you can lower and raise this bike’s windshield. Not just that, it has a sound system onboard as well as push-button start/stop. There is cruise control and touchscreen display that can help with navigation. What’s more? You can operate this screen with your gloves on.
The Indian Chieftain Elite is the costliest motorcycle the company makes till date. This bagger sports a massive 1811cc engine (just like the Chieftain Limited) and some of the best paintwork you will ever see on a two-wheeler. Its four-into-two exhaust system makes it stand out while its hardbags can be opened or closed remotely via the keyfob. With onboard navigation, it is equal parts classic and modern inside out.
So, India gets its first electric bike. Coming from a new player in the market, the Tork T6X is the only electric bike on this list. This makes it more unique than all other two-wheelers on this list. Finally, we will be able to experience the power output of an electric bike minus all the pollution a conventional one causes.
If you thought the G 310 R is the only thing born from BMW-TVS partnership, think again. the G 310 GS is a dual-purpose bike based on the G 310 R. It makes a whole lot of more sense for BMW to bring it to India than anything else. Why? Firstly, the market for dual-purpose bikes is growing here and two, a bike like this makes more sense in India than a sport bike.
The GD250R is Hyosung’s small-displacement sport bike sold in various markets around the world barring India. The reason this bike will come to India is because Hyosung is not doing well in the country. To rekindle its fortunes, the company will have to bring new offerings to India and replace the old ones. Hence, this bike will replace the GT250R in India.
This scooter is Vespa’s claim to fame, claims the company on its official website. We can see why. It looks gorgeous in any shade of colour it is available in. With a disc brake up front, the Primavera 125 is sold in 5 colours internationally. Expect it to come to India unchanged, albeit with a big price tag.
The Caponord is Aprilia’s dual purpose bike. To go off road, it has long travel suspension. At 125HP power output from its 1197cc V-Twin engine, that is manageable power for a seasoned rider. To help newbies, the bike has traction control and ABS. Aprilia sells the bike internationally in two colour shades. Expect both to be on offer in India.
Yes, you read it right! Iconic bike manufacturer Yezdi will participate at the Auto Expo 2018 and bring a slew of new models for India. While details on this are scarce at the moment, it’s very likely that a new Yezdi 350 motorcycle will be present at the Expo. It may be noted that Jawa bikes is now under the control of Mahindra Two Wheelers Ltd (MTWL). The manufacturer now plans to introduce the new generation of Cezch bikes under the Yezdi name. The new Yezdi bikes will launch later next year and will be positioned as a lifestyle brand.
The new Yezdi 350 model will become the first new Yezdi bike to launch in India. The upcoming motorcycle will be a re-badged 2017 Jawa 350. It gets a 4-stroke 350cc engine with a max. power of 26 BHP. ABS will be available.
The next Delhi Motor Show will be held from 9th February to 14th February 2018
