Royal Enfield is hard at work on its 750cc parallel-twin engine. Likely to spawn two models, a Continental GT (Interceptor 750) and a Himalayan, this engine is still not a litre-class motor. However, a litre-class Royal Enfield motorcycle has already made it to our market. No, we are not kidding, the bike you see in the images here is actually a Royal Enfield 1000cc model. It’s just that it’s not from the company itself, and is instead known as the Carberry Double Barrel 1000. We will tell you all about this Royal Enfield 1000cc bike in this post here.
The Royal Enfield 1000cc bike sports a V-Twin engine that uses its single-cylinder thumper engines as its base. Supplied by Carberry Motorcycles (Dream Engine and Modifications), this carbureted engine has a long stroke to help it deliver tthumping effect Royal Enfield bikes are known for. Carberry Motorcycles is an erstwhile Australian company, which is now based in Durg, Chhattisgarh. It has sourced bikes from Royal Enfield since 2011 and has made its own bikes too. So, without further ado, lets talk about the Royal Enfield 1000cc bike price in India, specifications and other details.

Currently, the bike is available for a price of ₹ 7.35 lakh (ex-showroom). The bike can be booked for ₹ 1 lakh and delivery will take 8-10 months.

The engine of the Royal Enfield 1000cc bike is made up of two separate engines of 500cc displacement each. This engine is based on current UCE single-cylinder engines from Royal Enfield. The power output 52 PS while the peak torque is rated at 82 Nm. The carbureted engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox with a seven-plate hydraulic clutch. This bike also has air-cooling, just like the RE motor it is based on. Since it is a long-stroke type engine, expect the bike to have the same thumper characteristics as the single-cylinder Royal Enfields. Also, it is claimed to offer linear power and torque delivery. Some of the salient features of this motor include heavy-duty starter motor, strengthened primary chain, hydraulic valve lifters and a heavy-duty crankshaft.
In terms of mileage, the Royal Enfield 1000cc bike will likely deliver 20 KMPL mileage in city conditions. Expect the mileage figure of the bike to climb up to 25 KMPL when being used on the highway.
The Royal Enfield 1000cc bike is expected to have a top speed of more than 150 KMPH. Yes, it has only 56BHP power but that 108Nm of torque should make for a bike that has good low and mid-range grunt, which is what the users of this motorcycle will likely look for.
The Royal Enfield 1000cc bike comes with a number of features. The design of the bike is decidedly classic. The twin rear shocks and spoke wheels only add to the aura of the classic design. There is also a kick-starter on the bike, which is rare on bikes with fuel-injected engines. The V-Twin configuration of the bike makes it unique. What also separate it from regular Royal Enfield bikes is disc brakes at both ends, twin side-sling exhaust pipes and a 7-plate hydraulic clutch. To start with, this bike will likely be made available in single-seater configuration, later spawning a two-seater version too.
